This song is about the unnatural obsession we have with our own destruction as a race. Horrific weaponry designed to wipe out millions of people and leave their land in dust, wars started over ridiculous ideals fought by people who never made any decisions, soldiers moved around and discarded like pawns. We are a very bizarre and arrogant species that thinks we're invincible to extinction. Well, we are about to find out.
lyrics
(Intro)
Things in this world scare me half to death
Fragile little things so soft and vulnerable
yet we throw ourselves away to danger
infinite internal sight forever growing
Building up and knocking down, it never ends
Life itself seems to hate our existence
Chews us up to spit us out and we're still here
Why are we so set on immolation?
(Verse 1)
The insanity we perpetuate
Might just be the answer
Always searching for the better place
Even making one in the sky
(Bridge)
in the swirling vortex
we throw ourselves
making wars on the basis of difference
Building on the foundations of death
(Chorus)
And their misery
How can we be so heartless?
Preserve life by constant death
Freedom feigns horror reigns
Mechanimals are we
(Verse 2)
All maniacally they deliberate
How the world will suffer
Just to hold onto their power trip
Even if it means destruction
(Middle)
Find me in the only place I feel safe among you
Peaceful and eternal
(Chorus 2)
Their death and their misery
How can we be so heartless?
Preserve life by constant death
Freedom feigns, horror reigns
Mechanimals are we
